   Luxury Brands in Moscow
Jewelry show at the Salon of Fine Arts is a major league for admirers of luxury. It will be enough to name the jewelry brands, which presented their unique creations in Moscow, to understand who exactly tries to win a demanding (and the most well-to-do) part of the Russian lovers of beautiful things.
The international exhibition Salon of Fine Arts 2008, ended in Moscow on June 2, featured the following jewelry houses: Avakian, Bvlgari, Chatila, Chanel Joaillerie, David Morris, Gilbert Albert, Golay Fils and Stahl, Guriaty, Harry Winston, Jewellery Theatre, Stahl, Moboco, Moussaieff, Sabbadini, Smolensk Diamonds, Van Cleef and Arpels, Wallace Chan, Zendrini for Gorconda.
Louvre: Aaron Basha, Alfieri and St John, Blu SA, Cartier, Damiani, Escada, Gavello, Guy Ellia, Leo Pizzo, Mauboussin, Mouawad, Paolo Piovan, Piaget Pluczenick, Schoeffel, Stefan Hafner, Vacheron Constantin.
Mercury: Chopard, de Grisogono, De Witt, FP Jorne Invenit and Fecit, Girard-Perregaux, Graff, Hublot, Jacob and Co, Mikimoto, Pasquale Bruni, Patek Philippe, Rolex, Tiffany's and Co, Urwerk.

Smolensk Diamonds (Smolensk), Jewellery Theatre (JT, Moscow), Guriati (Vladikavkaz) traditionally participate in the exhibition. Jewelers from Smolensk win the hearts of connoisseurs by dainty clarity and beauty of the “Russian cut” diamonds. JT is traditionally distinguished not only by an original exhibition composition where each piece plays a key role on an make-shift stage, but also by the collections of jewelry executed in a special, corporate style. Guriati traditionally works in a segment of expensive gifts.
A renowned Israeli businessman Lev Leviev, closely connected with Russia by cutting and jewelry manufactures, and construction business, who occupied the central part of the exposition last year, didn’t take part in the exhibition 2008.

At the last year’s exhibition, jewelry companies seemed to compete in who would display larger diamonds. Huge diamonds set in minimum gold were designed for that part of luxury admirers, for whom the size of a stone overshadows jewelry design art. Western companies’ huge diamonds amazed Moscow, but experts were hardly stroked.
This year, the Moscow public seemed to overcome this shock from large colored diamonds. Van Cleef and Arpels, Chopard, de Grisogono, Smolensk Diamonds and other companies presented splendid fine jewelry items.
Salon of Fine Arts 2008 has confirmed its top position in a luxury brand segment. Excellent mood and prosperity of the Russians contributed to relaxed atmosphere of glamorous luxury.
