ALROSA to Renew Diamond Sales
The diamond mining company ALROSA will renew retail diamond sales in May, according to the company’s President Sergey Vybornov.
In order to maintain the price level for rough diamonds, the company stopped diamond sales in the market in December 2008 due to the world financial crisis. In 2008, the Gokhran of Russia spent about $170 million for the additional purchasing of diamonds from the companies besides planned $130 million, and the most part of these means were allocated to help ALROSA.
